DESCRIPTION:Poet\, short fiction writer\, and Chicago native Stuart Dybek was raised on the city’s South Side by a family of Polish immigrants. Reflecting his upbringing\, Dybek’s writing uses dreams\, imagination\, and religious iconography to transcend the gritty details of the working class\, ethnic neighborhoods of his youth.\n\nWith writing published in five short story collections\, two books of poetry\, and magazines such as Harper's\, The New Yorker\, and the Atlantic Monthly\, Dybek has earned multiple literary awards including the PEN/Malamud Award\, a Guggenheim fellowship\, and the O. Henry Award. He was also awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2007. \n\nBooks will be available for purchase.
