Eisenhower Public Library District
National Quilting Day is Saturday, March 19th. Let’s build a Community Quilt! Come to the library between February 13th and 28th and call 708-867-7828 to pick up your quilt square kit (includes a white fabric square, two strips of fascinating fabric for decoration, pipe cleaners, and two fabric markers) and work your magic.

Hang your quilt square in the front window of your home until the end of March so everyone can see our community quilt grow.

Post pictures on social media with the hashtag #ikequilt or email your photo to reference@eisenhowerpld.org. We'll assemble your photos into a digital quilt to share with the world.

Facebook Book Club: The Lost Book of Adana Moreau

Wednesday, March 31, 2021
Eisenhower Public Library District
Join us in the Eisenhower Library Book Club Group on Facebook, a place to read and discuss books with our community.

We'll choose a new book every month and share discussion questions, author interviews, recommended read-a-likes, and anything else we can think of to enhance your reading experience. Share your thoughts as you read the book.

This month's book is The Lost Book of Adana Moreau by Michael Zapata.

In 1929 in New Orleans, an immigrant named Adana Moreau writes a science fiction novel titled Lost City. It is a strange and beautiful novel, set in a near future where a sixteen-year-old girl, not unlike Adana herself, searches for a golden eternal city believed to exist somewhere on a parallel Earth. Lost City earns a modest but enthusiastic readership, and Adana begins a sequel. Then she falls gravely ill. Just before she dies, she and her son, Maxwell, destroy the only copy of the manuscript. Decades later in Chicago, Saul Drower is cleaning out his dead grandfather's home when he discovers a mysterious manuscript by Adana Moreau. How did Saul's grandfather come across this lost manuscript? Where is Adana Moreau's mysterious son, Maxwell, and why did Saul's grandfather send him the manuscript as his final act in life?

Borrow the book, ebook, or audiobook.
