The story of the Shimojima family’s journey from Japan and through the difficult war years, including time in the Japanese internment camps. This story was inspired by an interview with a 91-year old aunt, who experienced the Portland, Oregon assembly center and a California incarceration camp, and whose only crime was looking like the enemy.
